Why Grass-Fed Grass-Finished Beef?

FAQ Arrow

Why Grass-Fed Grass-Finished Beef?

1. Health Benefits

Grass-fed beef can provide up to six times more of the healthy fats such as Omega 3’s and CLA essential fats and has fewer calories. Grass-finished beef is one of the most nutrient dense protein sources available. It has more antioxidants and is rich in vitamins and minerals, such as Vitamin E, A, and iron.

2. Better for the Environment

Our animals graze open green pastures and are consistently “recycling” their food to fertilize these pastures. Our cattle are taken directly from the farm, to the harvester/processor, and then straight to the consumer cutting out the middle men. Beef in grocery stores are finished in a confined feedlot that produce dangerous greenhouse gas emissions. They go from the farmer to the sale barn to the feedlot to the harvest facility to the processor and finally to the store… Really racking up those miles.

3. Locally Sourced

About 75% to 80% of grass-fed beef sold in the US is grown abroad in Australia, New Zealand, and parts of South America, according to a 2017 report from the Stone Barns Center for Food and Agriculture. Our cattle are raised right here in North Texas. Raised in Emory, TX, when you buy from Born & Raised, you can be sure you’re buying a locally sourced product that went directly from the farm to your table.

What does All Natural mean?

Our animals are treated humanely on open pastures in a low stress environment. We don’t use the practice of feeding or administering antibiotics or growth hormones. If a cow is sick and needs antibiotics we immediately remove them from the beef program. We are 100% transparent with the care of our animals so if you have any questions just ask!

What is the delivery zone?

What is the delivery zone?

Born & Raised offers free home delivery to all customers in our free delivery zone. For customers outside of this area, Born & Raised offers 1-3 day shipping depending on location through UPS. The beef is packed in a styrofoam cooler inside of a recyclable cardboard box. We pack it hard frozen and verify the recipient will be home to receive the delivery. Customers should expect beef that is beginning to thaw, NOT hard frozen, especially those in 2-3 day range, as is standard for all meat delivery by mail. If there is an unexpected delay or your order is damaged in transit, we are always willing to either replace or refund.
