Pulled Beef Sandwiches

Ingredients

  • 3 lbs Chuck Roast or 3 lbs Short Ribs
  • ½ tablespoon salt
  • 1 ½ teaspoons black pepper
  • 2 teaspoons italian seasoning
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 medium yellow onions (chopped)
  • 5 cloves garlic
  • 1 teaspoon dried time
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 2 ½ tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce

Serve On:

  • Toasted Hoagie Rolls or Buns
  • Provolone or your favorite kind of cheese


Directions

  1. Season the meat with salt, pepper, and italian seasoning.
  2. Warm the olive oil over medium to medium-high heat in a large pan and brown meat on both sides. 
  3. Remove the meat and set aside. In the same pan, add onions and saute until softened.
  4. Place the beef, onions, and remaining ingredients into a slow cooker and cook on high for 3-4 hours or low for 6-8 hours.
  5. When cooked, remove the beef from the slow cooker and shred with forks.
  6. The remaining sauce in the slow cooker can be used as au jus to dip sandwiches in if desired.
  7. If making into sandwiches, toast hoagies with the provolone and then place the pulled beef into them and serve.
